Reasons Accounts and Excuses

What is the relationship between what we do and who we are? Can we draw boundaries around some behaviors saying, in essence, “this counts, but that doesn’t”? What kind of boundaries do we ask others to draw when we offer excuses and explanations for our actions? What does it mean to forgive and forget?
